Hi all, great forum so far :)...I have what is probably an age old question for you all.Does anyone know if it is possible to back up an ipad to a pc? I want to wipe the pc and reinstall my o/s and will lose my iTunes program with the sync data. It is a major pain having to reinstall everything onto the ipad from different locations as iTunes will not recognise the ipad, so I wondered if I can just copy everything from the ipad to a folder on a spare hard drive to save all the messing about...
Any ideas??

It would be a whole lot easier to buy a cheap external hard disk, back up your computer (bootable is best) to the ext HD, then copy everything back to your computer.

I have 4 hard drives on the pc...all my music etc is stored on a different drive to my 0/s. The problem I have is when I re-install everything and connect my ipad up for iTunes, it will not recognise the device and try to delete the stuff on the ipad. I need to be able to back up the ipad where it can be copied back over or be able to keep the iTunes information so it won't try to delete it...doing it manually file by file takes far too much time and things tend to get missed off :)
