Hi there, My name is Donna and i have an iPad and an iPhone and i love them of course  I am a relatively new user. I know enough about computers to get myself into all kinds of trouble, that of course I often have to get help to get out of. This is with PC's however. Macs seem to defeat me when there is a difficulty and i am hopeful that here i will be able to learn a bit more about my two new toys.

I found this site because i have been having difficulty updating some apps on the iPad. No problems with the iPhone, so i assume my credit card info is not the cause.

and if i happen to know something useful I will be happy to share this as well.

Hi Leelai, thanks for the welcome and the links. I have read the rules post and I am glad they are there! the tips and tricks will be useful I suspect.

the Issue I have been dealing with is 12 apps that have been slated to be updated for a month and when i try to update a message comes up saying that it cannot be updated at this time. I am given a retry option or a cancel option. I just tried a suggestion of deleting the apps and reinstalling them so I am hoping this will work. If not I will be back. From the searching I have done in the past week it seems to be a problem that has been around for a while (2010 and 2011 dates pop up a lot) but there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer/solution to the issue.

There are different reasons for this issue. All apps are also updated whenever an update for the iPad is done and if the iPad has not been updated first then this can be 1 reason why the apps will not update. Have a look in Settings - General - About and look for version. The latest OS right now is 5.1.1 so if you have an earlier version this could be the reason your apps will not update. Also you can not have downloads from iTunes and the app store at the same time, so do you have any downloads still pending in your iTunes app? Have a look and if there are any downloads pending just swipe them to delete the download and then your apps can be updated. Hope this helps you, let us know.
