Homemade videos dont work !!!

Hi Everyone
I have made some homevideos, and i can successfully import them onto my Ipad. The problem which keeps occuring is that i cannot play my videos once imported.
Is there any apps available to convert or make my videos available to play once imported????

How do you know they were successfully imported?

Another way to view your videos is with FileBrowser.

Thanks for getting back.
When i import my videos they show up on the screen as a blank picture of a camera and underneath it say AVI, but they do not work when i try to open them. Is Filebrowser an app for the ipad, or something for the computer???

iPad's own video player doesn't support playback of .avi files but there are various apps available which should do. Try starting out with VLC as it's free - there's also oplayer HD and CineXplayer (not free) among others if VLC doesn't work out for you.
