How can I switch off auto correct

Hi, I get frustrated by having to go back over every email and text page 2 or 3 times to undo the stupid auto corrections before I send off. I am a good writer and speller and think carefully before I write a word so when the auto correct mangles it, it upsets me. How can I switch it off,

Hi there! Welcome to iPF!
Go to Settings - General - Keyboard. There you can switch it off.
