How is storage space being used

How can I tell how much space is being taken up by apps, vs photos, songs etc

Have a look at Settings/Usage and you'll see a list of the space taken by each app and it's data.

Plug the iPod into your computer and open iTunes... The storage breakdown is shown at the bottom of the main 'Owner's Ipad' screen: See the image below:

I forgot about that. Since iCloud I haven't been to iTunes for long while. Never sync iPad there.
When I connect will it know diff in iPhone. Don't want it to auto sync with iPhone info.
