Swear it use to work but since the update I can no longer get lyrics to show on my beloved Ipad
Any ideas?

You don't. It went missing in the iPad with the update. It still works on the iPhone, so we can only hope it was an over site on Apple's part and they will fix it soon in an update.

There are a few other missing features in the new Music app that have people a bit annoyed, or worse. It's been suggested that you make your feelings know on Apple's feedback page.

Excellent link. At least it gives me somewhere to get my reservation off my chest about the IoS world.
You sir are the best!

If you have lyrics in the song's metadata, then they will show up superimposed over the album art when you are in the cover art view. At least that's what I remember happening with the one song I experimented with.

Lyrics are not loaded by default in iTunes (at least none of mine are). You have go into iTunes on the computer, right click on the song, choose Get Info, then paste the lyrics into the Lyrics tab. Then of course, you have to sync.

I believe there are some third party programs that will search your iTunes library and copy lyrics into it, but I've never played with any of them.

I downloaded the lyrics to about 100 of my most favorable songs from sum website (they are a breeze to find). Cut, copy, paste it in a songs info in lyrics.
It'll appear over the album artwork when you tap it once,

iTunes Match doesn't work with the lyrics on the 4S, or the iPad.

It wouldn't. For the most part your songs are only matched with existing tracks already in the iTunes Store, so there is no copying of the song from your computer. For the few songs it does copy from your computer, I wouldn't be surprised if it does not include the lyrics in the upload.

There is a great little FREE program called mini lyrics which I use. The cool thing about this program is that it integrates with iTunes and as music is played it's saved to your library. Then while music is playing the words scroll. It's fun to be able to double check what the singer is saying. There are others available just google it. There is a lot that iTunes could do if apple wanted to. If you ever tried other music players like Zune which will show the entire history of an artist. Or programs like media monkey you would be amazed at the feature and encoding available. Apple sound quality and available features is widely know to be on the low end. An example of this is the way playlist are managed. In any case the good iOS offers out paces the bad.
Enjoy and share

Mini lyrics must be another country! Can't find it in UK store unless I've got spelling wrong!
