How to delete facebook message

Pls, can anyone tell me how I can delete Facebook messages from my ipad?

With the Facebook app? I believe it's done by swiping

Swiping doesn't work with the newer models. Just hold your finger down on the message you want to delete and it will give you option to archive.

I have an ipad mini and this was very helpful...thanks! I sometimes got the archive option, but also got a copy or delete.
