How to map fields in export from Gmail?

I am trying to clean up my contacts want to see in a list format adjust and delete and then import back in. I have read and tried how to export a group from gmail contacts to a google.csv file and import into excel however I don't want the 30 plus fields that are exported. Would anyone know how to map the fields from Gmail contacts?
