How to print a list of app content

A series of screenshots is about it.

I can't think of any way to generate a text document that would not be at least as much trouble as typing out the list manually, and probably involve screenshots anyway; combined with some kind of text recognition software.

Thanks for your reply. Do you know of any iPad app that can do a screen shot of whatever is being displayed on the iPad, regardless of the active app, just like the beloved Snipping Tool in Windows 7 on the PC? Kind regards from 'across the ditch'.

No app needed. Just press the Home and Power button at the same time. The iPad takes a screen shot and places it in the Photo app's camera roll.

If you'd like an easy tool to crop or annotate that screenshot, many of us like Skitch. Of course, you can also crop in the Photos app.
