How to retrieve Pictures and videos I had uploaded to Ipad2?

Good day everyone. Great community here.

I have previously uploaded my treasured videos and pictures of many, many years from my external harddisk to my Ipad and now my harddisk has crashed.
Is there a way for me to retrieve my pictures and videos my Ipad and store them back on a new hard disk.

First, the essential lesson: all hard disks will fail. Backup.

Essentially, you have an inadvertent backup on your iPad.

Restore your computer. Don't worry.
