How to retrieve text from Notes???

I wrote a long letter using Notes and now want to send it to friends, but can't seem to get the text out. Sending to Email seems not to work, and I don't have an air printer. Can anyone suggest how to retrieve the text?

Welcome to the forum. Just tap the little arrow in the box down at the bottom and a pop up menu will appear. You can Copy, Email, Print etc,
