How to trace ipad??

my friend lost/stolen her IPAD and it's new how can i trace her IPAD using Serial No. Can you help me anyone??

If your friend has a Mac and has Find My iPad turned on it can be traced that way.

Not sure if possible by Serial Number...
As jmbarker said it is possible if find myiPhone (iPad) is installed, then it is possible to trace it with any other iPhone/ iPad or with a Mac.
