Onlive desktop is not available for Indian users. Cloud on, is not very useful. It does open the Excel worksheet, and word documents. But you need to be connected (online)
always. I would like to use MS office, in a non wi-fi environment. I should be able to load the files/documents at office, and open, edit etc; at worksites, where wi-fi is not
available. Can you suggest some apps for this application please.

Try loading CloudOn via Dropbox. If you already have Dropbox, go to the Dropbox site and download CloudOn. I have found that this is working fine for Excel and Word so far. I don't need PowerPoint. When used in conjunction with Dropbox you have genuine mobility for these Microsoft Apps. Editing on your iPad, iPhone desktop etc updates to your other connected devices. Make sure the Dropbox app is on all the devices of course.

Willey:)

Hello - welcome to the forum! :)

I saw your thread yesterday but was not sure if you wanted to use a 'cloud' service or an app(s) on your iPad to view the MS Office files? Your response above suggests that you want an app(s) on your device to view these files w/o a wireless connection - correct?

For myself, I am using iWork (Apple's trio of 3 programs, i.e. Pages, Numbers, & Keynote which are equivalent to Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) on my iPad (these are $10 each) - now, there are other office apps (search on the App store) that can offer similar features; keep in mind that the functionality/features on the iPad versions will not approach those offered in the standard MS programs.

Finally, concerning MS Access, there is NO easy solution - I have about a half dozen Access databases and am trying to convert these to another format (WHY - well, I've retired and don't really want to spend the extra-$$ on putting Access onto my next desktop computer, just not needed for me) - I've been exporting several to Excel, not a great solution.

Let us know if these suggestions serve your purpose - good luck!
