I'm new

My dear husband bought me an iPad for Christmas. I want to understand how to use it to full advantage. I'll have many questions in the days to come like why doesn't my word "many" in this sentence come out on one line? I have been pretty much self-taught since Windows 93. I have a desk-top and a laptop running XP and I have a Samsung android phone. I am a senior citizen so I cannot remember the actual Samsung phone name. There is still lots to learn about that, too.

Welcome to the forums.

As you should be able to see, you don't need to worry about the "many" thing. The box you use to compose on this site has a weird problem which does not split words correctly as you type them, but as you can now see, then the post is made it all works out. Just a strange bug which the developers do know about, do don't worry about it. You'll get used to it!

Hopefully you'll find all the answers you need. This may sound odd but if you find you need help with your Samsung phone you can always message me privately for help as I am a long time Samsung and android user as far as phones are concerned. I'd tell you to do it here, but as you can tell this is an iPad forum and that would be frowned upon .

Hi geriwag!! I think that was wonderful that your husband got you an iPad as a Xmas gift!! Sounds like you have really kept current with the ever-changing technology:laptops, smart phones etc!!
Once you start playing with your iPad, you will just love it. The experience on the iPad is very different from what we are used to with our windows products. It's just so easy and fun to use!! Enjoy and best wishes!!
