I have a large audio library, over 80000 songs. When I plug in my iPad and select it from devices, then click on the audio tab iTunes freezes and then crashes. It also does this with my iPhone as well. If I remove all the songs in the library I can select audio and it works. Sadly I have no music to select though. :)

I have reloaded iTunes and it still does it. Do I have too many songs?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks, as if you do.

A work-around would be to create multiple libraries, only add the music you want on your iPad to itunes and then sync. Afterwards restart iTunes and select your normal library with all songs.

Edit: Forgot the key info: How to create multiple libraries

Can you really have too many songs? I didn't know that. Why would that crash the iTunes. I use playlists as I don't have enough memory for all my songs, would I get to the point where iTunes would crash. Sorry for lack of understanding but hey! Your name suggests you would be perfect for this question? From confused?

Great, thanks for the advice. I will try it out.
My humble appologies, I think I posted this question in the wrong forum.
