Inable to verify email account

Hi everyone,
Just got my new iPad and have been using mug orange email account on my iphone4 for a while now with no problems.
I have just put the identical settings for my email account into my iPad but it just keeps saying "cannot verify email account"
Could anyone help with this issue ,

Update......


When opening up email I get the message

The mail server "pop.orangehome.co.uk is not responding"
Verify you have entered the correct account info in mail
Settings

I know I have because I have copied them from my iPhone
