Intermittent (and random?) Chime?

Had a quick look but couldn't find this question before....?

I have a 64Gb New iPad with a (very) few Apps installed, about 8.

Every now and then I get a lovely melodious "dong" on my iPad.

It isn't facebook or Skype or mail or the alarm. It isn't an "on the hour" chime. I don't think it is when the %age drops to/below anything!?

It sometimes happens in the middle of the night. It probably happens more often than I hear it....

It is innoculous and not unpleasant, just puzzling.

Anyone know what it is? Or could be?

Have you allowed sound notifications on any of your apps?

Calendar alarms?

Husband has synced to his work calendars but leaves his iPad at home so when I am working at home it's dinging all the time with reminders!

Mine does this, but it is email arriving. It can be in sleep mode and still chimes.

Yeah, me too....

As I said I only have 8 non original Apps and I KNOW that it isn't any of them. No reminders, no messages arriving, no Skype, no new mail, nutin....

All times of the day and night.....

Have you looked at your notifications? Swipe your finger down over the time at the top of the screen and you will get a list of your notifications. Tap the three lined bar at the bottom to close. I only found it by accident.

Happens with me and it's my e-mails automatically downloading. I just always remember to switch ipad onto silent when im sleeping

Have u got push notifications switched on with any of your e-mail accounts?

Go onto settings>mail>fetch new data>advanced and check there.
