Introduction - Paris 7

A quick hello just to introduce myself as Paris 7, a starving author, and huge fan of iPads as a serious work tool. I'm also hooked on Textkraft EN, Dragon Dictation, PDF Splicer, plus TuneIn Radio and Flight Radar 24, which I could stare at for hours when bereft of inspiration. I mean ALL those aircraft! No wonder there are holes in the ozone layer.

My current frustration it that having constructed a huge 180 page PDF file consisting of newly unearthed 600 dpi images of 1940s Occupied France, I would like to proof the captions in an iOS PDF editor that really works. I'm currently struggling with "PDF Editor Pro" but while I can (apparently) successfully send the file to PDF Editor Pro, it simply doesn't appear... Very frustrating with a deadline to meet!

Anyway, greetings all from freezing, financial crisis torn Paris.

Keep taking the pills, I am!

I'm not familiar with PDF Editor Pro (unless you meant PDF Expert Pro, now PDF Expert 5).

If you've used something unusual to create/compress the file, it can cause problems. PDF creation tools use unusual compression algorithms that are not well supported on mobile devices.

If that is the case you will find it difficult to find any PDF app on the iPad that will work, since almost all of them use iOS's built in PDF ability.

I've seen this issue most often with Universities that use special tools to super compress PDF documents. The work around for this was to open the document in another PDF app (like Preview for Mac, or Adobe Reader) then export it again.

I would go to PDF Editor developer support pages (link should be in the App Store description) and ask them. Supply the name of the tool you are using to create the PDF's. Maybe they can help.

If you are using PDF Expert, the developer is Readdle. They are usually good about getting back to their customers.

Good luck.

Thank you for your thoughts, doubtless you are right, I will do as you suggest and see if that works.
Best regards from Paris
