Introduction: trying to change my avatar in messages

Hi, I am new to this site, finding it a very difficult forum to navigate, usually don't have any trouble. Anyway, suddenly an avatar appeared as me on my messages, have no idea how it got there and can't seem to remove or change it. Any ideas please.

There's a way to change your iPF avatar directly from the app. Go to your profile page and tap your avatar. You'll then see this.
