The best thing I can recommend to you is to download the Kindle for PC program from Amazon. After download, you can register it with Amazon and then it can be treated like a Kindle or a Kindle app. You will be able to download any book from your Amazon cloud, sync with the book you are reading on your iPad, etc.

It's free and, IMO, makes life easier than trying other ways to get Kindle books to the PC.
