Hello.
I am male 68 yaers old and help older people with handling electronic consumer products.
I try to find out if i can Recommend the ipad for the very beginner.
The first requirement is that the ipad must function stand alone, with icloud it should be.
I hope to find support in this forum because my people arround me uses windows-pc

Hi Kondor - welcome to the forum! :)

The iPad is certainly much easier to use than a standard computer - you might want to define the most important needs of your 'older people' in wanting to use a computer device? For example, email, photos, pictures, etc. - may help others better advise you better - good luck!
 
Hy.
After loading the ibooks app on a brandnew ipad with os 5.01 i send by email from another ipad the ipad manual in pdf format.
I transferred that pdf document by selecting open with ibooks.
I can see that document in the library but can't open it, why?
