iOS 12 keyboard change

I have downloaded iOS 12 on both my iPad and iPhone. The keyboard has changed on my iPad swapping number and emoji keys but it remains as it was on my iPhone this is extremely confusing or is it just me?

Yeah it's a real pain in the ass as muscle memory has me constantly hitting the emoji icon
