Does anyone know when iOS 5 Is being released in the UK and how will icloud work?

12th of October is not too long to wait now. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on iOS 5 and iCloud. I could do with a new iPhone too but I will have to wait until the end of the month here in Spain.
