Ipad 1 deactivate questions

I just got my Ipad 2 and I am selling my Ipad 1 to a friend, I have a few questions.
1. Do I have to deactivate the Ipad 1 from my apple account and if so how?
2. How do I reset the Ipad 1 back to original, I have already back-up it up and made an exact copy to the Ipad 2 so no issue there.
want to be able to send it to him so he can set it up on his apple account with no issues since it will be sent across the country and if there is an issue will be hard to fix then. Thanks for any help

Best thing you can do is probably connect the iPad to iTunes and press the "restore" button. This will install a clean fresh IOS on the device and leave it in a "factory fresh" state for your friend to use. Just make sure you do not sync the iPad once the restore is complete. When the question pops up "Do you want to set up this iPad as new or restore from backup" at the end of the process, just unplug it and put it in a box. Your friend will get exactly the same question when he first connects it...
