Apple’s iPad 2 has officially been crowned Tablet of the Year at the T3 Gadget Awards 2011 as it continues to dominate the sector. Although the news of iPad2 claiming the title of Tablet of the Year has only recently come through, it had been expected since the start that the winning title would go to the Apple device. After the official launch in March, iPad2 has dominated the market and let little space for competition, even though high profile Android, HTC and BlackBerry similar tablets have tried their hand in overturning the odds in their favor.
A few millimeters off from the first version, front and rear cameras on the device and a better iOS have made Apple’s iPad2 a fan favorite, attracting many users who have, until then, refused to join the hype when the first tablet generation came out in 2010.
Apple fitted iPad2 with the A5 dual-core processor and a better CPU, which will now transfer to the new iPhone 4S, putting the new smartphone at the top of the game and making it one of the fastest devices out there, coming short of the iPad 2’s performance only due to underclocking on energy saving grounds.
While many may roll their eyes at the news of iPad2 ranking first on yet another list, Apple has truly did it’s best to make sure their product stays there for a long period of time, or at least until they can replace it with a new, improved, version.
