Ipad 2 wifi edition internet problem

Ipad 2 wifi edition conneted to wifi network but cannot surf the net, please help ???

Gotta check the router. If you are in public sometimes you have to sign in to a service and agree to terms before you actually get on. Like at mickey D's and such. I had this issue here int the forums they recommended pulling up safari while getting on the wifi to access this screen at my sons schools wifi, and this trick helped me.

Exactly right. You will appear to be linked to wifi, but unless you authenticate your connection, which you can only do in Safari, nothing will happen.

This can be annoying if you don't have access to the wifi network as your device will choose it over 3G. To deal with this, go to Settings/Wifi and "Forget this connection".
