When I am typing on ipadforums (and also on other forums), formatting tags appear when I activate capslock and press certain keys.

I typed B,I,and U with capslock on to get those to show. Why is this happening? Is there anyway to turn it off? I usually press capslock to capitalize a single letter as a habit instead of using shift so this is quite annoying.
