iPad 3 sound not working but ear phone ok.

I bought a Ipad 3 around 4months back, suddenly the speaker sound has gone off, but the ear phone is working.
the Ipad was reset and also formatting was done. still the condition persists, no other problem with the functioning of the Ipad.
awaiting suggstions.

Just checking, in the top right there is a switch, you can set it for rotation or mute, try that switch as it may have been accidentally switched on for mute?

If the speaker is making no sound what so ever, then sounds like a busted one

Try taking it to an Apple store and let the erm... Forgot what they call themselves... Geniuses? Take a look at it
