IPad and SQL syncing

I have just purchased my iPad. One of the things I neee it for is to sync with my contact database on my windows server.

It is a Microsoft SQL database. Any ideas how to sync it with my contact book on the Ipad? Is there a better contact app than the one that the Ipad comes with?
