iPad Attachments

That is one of the sad things with Apple-iPad. You can not send attachments on mail. At list not in the normal way.
Apples way is to send pictures and attach to it the mail. Sounds funny. Sure is. It means you pick a picture and you tap some icon which is stating "mail" or something. Now it becomes mail with attachments.
Hope they improve that joke in iPAD2.

Yes, that is one of my favorite features

Sending photos as attachments is a snap if you will pardon the pun. Same easy way to send videos.

Yea, super simple just choose what you want from the photo app and generate the email right in the app or use copy and paste. The only reason it's different than a PC is because the iPad doesn't have an open file system to select attachments from. But I find copy & paste to be just as efficient.

Can someone please explain how I can send attachmenta via iPad using Gmail or other similar email accounts .

"Mailer" can do this (you can add documents to the mailer app via iTunes, Open in..., or via Download and use them as attachments).

If you use Apple 'Pages', 'Numbers' or 'Keynote' (their 'Office' apps) or iBook (for PDF files) they offer you the option to email (as an attachment) the file you are reading/editting. Several third-party apps offer this too - but via the iPad built-in mail app. I have not found a file yet that I cannot email (using the built-in Mail app) as an attachment. If it makes a difference, I'm using iOS 4.2 and I'm not familiar with the earlier OS.

Open the document in it's native app and click the swishy arrow or file button and chose send to or mail to. It's that easy. Of course, some apps don't have this feature. If so, find another app to open it and see if it has the feature. I noticed Docs to Go doesn't have the feature for a plowed point but does havenit for a word doc. Go figure.
