iPad dock connector splitter?

Is there such a thing out there? Basically I want to hook my external hard drive to my iPad using the USB camera connecter but also charge it at the same time if possible. Done a quick search but came up with nothing other than a few unanswered forum posts from last year.

Your not going to want to split both external hdd and power adapter to the ipad. The power adapter could overload the hdd with to much power.

I did think it wouldn't be possible due to power overload. Nevermind..
