iPad external keyboard issue, please help

Hi everyone, I recently got an external keyboard for my iPad3 (which is jailbroken on IOS 5.1.1), I've never had any problems until recently, I noticed that if I try to write "@" using the machintosh combination (alt+@) I get three dots as in "..." by pushing it only once, "@" is made with another combination but I noticed this only recently, it hasn't always been like this. Is there anyway to set combinations the same as laptops or just reset it? I tried respringing the iPad, putting it into safe mode, but nothing worked.
