ipad icloud locked

hi all . i brought an ipad a few weeks ago, all working find untill i went to restore it, now it says i need the icloud account detail. ive tried contacting the chap i brought it from but had no luck. also do a checkmend check on it and all came up clear,

so does anyone know if there is anyway i can get around this,

I'm afraid that there's no way to bypass the iCloud Activation Lock. Without the iCloud ID and password of the original owner, the iPad can never be restored.

There's no way to get around iCloud's activation lock. You need the former owner's password, or he needs to remove it from his iCloud account/Find my iPad.
