Hello. I am a new forum member. I am not very computer savvy. I have a kindle app on my iPad 2. I need to know how to purchase kindle books on mt iPad. I no longer physically have a kindle. Is that even possible. Amazon said to put the book on the wish list then buy it through your browser??? I usually use my yahoo account for everything of course on iPad safari is the browser. So how do I purchase something help!!

You purchase books by going to the Amazon Kindle store in the browser (Safari), or on your computer. Buy them there. When buying you have an option (usually) to have them delivered to your device. If you haven't registered the iPad app yet, it won't appear. Not to worry. You can download the book directly from the iPad later.

On the iPad, you need to open the Kindle app and register (sign in) with your Amazon account. It will probably prompt you when you open it, but if it doesn't you can find the option by taping the 'i' icon at the lower right of the screen, then Settings.

Once you are signed in (and have an internet connection) you should see all the Kindle books you've purchased on the Archive page. Tap one to download it and start reading.

To make your life easier in the future, once you've navigated to the Kindle Book store at Amazon.com, tap the box-and-arrow icon just to the left of the URL bar, then choose Add to Home Screen. This will create an icon on your iPad that is a shortcut to the Kindle store. You can put it right next to the Kindle app as a reminder.

Hi there and welcome.

There is lots of good advice and info on here plus plenty of members all too willing to help with any problems.

Remember, search is your friend. If you can't find the answer you need and you post a question then give as much info as you can to help members help you i.e. iPad 1 or 2, iOS version and name of app if the problem is with a specific app........and please don't forget to read the rules http://www.ipadforums.net/forum-rules-help-info/2119-forum-rules-everybody-please-read.html

These are the hacking section rules for all you jail breakers (and would be jail breakers) http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-hacking/2892-hacking-section-rules-please-read.html

We also have an app for this forum. The link to download the app is: Discussion Forum for iPad Users for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

You can download the manual for your iPad here http://support.apple.com/manuals/ and in iBooks search for "iPad user guide for" and you will find free comprehensive manuals for both iOS 4 and 5.

If you have other Apple products or are interested in other Apple kit then why not join our sister forum too at http://www.appleforums.net/

Finally, if you still haven't had enough, how about a video explaining about our other forums (note:you may want to play this at half speed but hey, why shouldn't Phil be excited about our forums!)
