Clicking a message to read it produces the "mark as" link in the upper right. That gives you the choice to mark as unread or flag.
Why is there not a choice to mark as spam just like the mail program does on the web and in Mail on the computer?
If you tap the left button in the top right corner, then you get a choice to move the message to a different folder. My gmail account has a span folder, so I just move it there.

Now spam in ICloud is finally being recognized be Mail on the PowerBook but neither the iPhone or the iPad see it as spam. Isn't there anyway to have Mail filter spam at the server before it gets downloaded to the iPad and iPhone??
You can setup Gmail using Microsoft Exchange which allows you not only to get push email but push Google Contacts and Google Calendar if you use those services.
