We can't wait to find out all the offial details, and what it's actually called! Apple is actually live-streaming the event here: Apple - Apple Events - Apple Special Event October 2012 (you'll need to view it in Safari on your PC or Mac, as well as your iOS devices)
We'll also be updating this story here as the details come in, so stay tuned! Here we go!!!

Tim Cook is welcoming everyone and giving some stats on the success of the iPhone 5.

The most iPhones sold in an opening weekend, and the most phones ever sold in an opening weekend!

After a video about the iPhone 5 launch, Tim is now talking about the new iPod range, and now about iOS 6 - "We have 200 million iOS devices running iOS 6 - this is phenomenal!" he says.

Next up, Tim is talking about the various Mac/iOS features such as iMessage and GameCenter. He says that customers have already shared 70 million photos via Shared Photostream.

Now apps: customers have downloaded 35 billion apps from the App Store.

Turning to iBooks, which Tim says is "one of the most popular apps on the App Store." 400 million iBooks downloaded since the store began.

New version of iBooks, now with continuous scrolling added. It will be better integrated with iCloud. There will also be new ways to share quotes on Facebook and Twitter simply by tapping on them. Also support for 40 languages. In Japanese, pages turn left to right. New version of iBooks is available today. "Fantastic," says Tim.

Next up, it's Mac time!!! The number 1 desktop and notebook in the US, Tim says. Cue applause!

The 13-inch Mac is the best selling of all Macs, he says, let alone MacBooks.

"We are not standing still," says Tim, before calling on Phill Schiller to talk about the MacBook.

Here it is, the brand new 13-inch MacBook Pro. The lightest MacBook Pro ever. It has two Thunderbolt ports, HDMI, and a Retina display!! "A stunning display," says Phill.

Up to 7 hours of battery life.

Starting price $1699! Starts shipping today. Now Phil is showing that the new MacBook ticks all the green boxes in the environmental checklist.

Next up - MacMini! Newly updated.

Onto iMac. Phil talks about the seven generation of iMacs, before unveiling the newest iMac. It's hiding behind a cloth! He turns it to show how thin it is - 5 mm thin. 80% thinner. Now Phil is explaining how the managed to get it so thin, by laminating the display directly to the glass, removing the optical drive, and re-engineering the internal components. It will come in 21.5-inch and 27-inch versions. Both IPS. It is a full lamination design, with an anti-reflective coating, and a new technology, Plasma deposition. It will have 75% less reflection, with each one being individually calibrated.

Four USB 3 ports and two Thunderbolt ports.

The Apple Fusion Drive is next, built into Mountain Lion.

The 21.5-inch version will cost $1299, the 27-inch will cost $1799.

Now Tim is back to talk about iPad!!!

Apple has just sold its 100 millionth iPad. He's talking about tablet web traffic stats, of which the iPad has 91%. "People love their iPads!"
