Ipad name changed

The name of my iPad changed on my laptop after my nephew connected his ipad to my laptop. Can't changed the name anymore. It reads my iPad as my nephew's iPad.

The name on my iPad is still the same. But, when I connect this to my laptop and opened 'My Computer', the name of the iPad connected is my nephew's.

When your nephew removed his iPad from your iTunes, did he "eject" it? It may just be hung up. My suggestion is to fully close iTunes and reboot your computer. After it starts back up, try opening iTunes and then connecting your iPad again. It should show the name you have on your iPad.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I have 2 iPads connected to my iTunes. However, I am using the wi-fi connection. I don't know. If this makes a difference. I am using a pc with Windows 7. Sometimes it takes a while for iTunes to connect to the 2nd iPad. When in iTunes on your computer, check to see what devices are registered with it.

Only mine is connected but the name registered is my nephew's. Use to be my name. What he did was when my iTunes was open, he updated his os. Now it's his name that appears.

iPad connects to iTunes via wifi for syncing. See settings and check general. It reads iTunes Wi-FI Sync.

Oooooo thank you I will check that out :)

In iTunes -edit> preferences> devices you should find your iPad and your nephew's iPad. Your iPad is recognized by it's serial number. On your iPad you name your iPad in settings>about > name, but you will see that your serial number is here also. If your nephew erased your iPad (which he would not have had to do) you may have to start again.

Can't get your problem. As i do it perfectly by connecting my ipad to PC through iTunes. Then i just right-click the iPad name and change the name there. And it should work.
