Ipad not charging

I just got my Ipad and it will not charge. It has been plugged into the outlet for 2 hours and the screen goes blank after about 30 seconds.

try charging with a usb outlet(computer).

do you have any other usb sources?

this is not a known issue, i did see someone mentioned it once on here, but you might wanna try going to an apple store to test your power adapter or possible issue with your iPad 2, if an apple store is too far, try a local best buy or electronic store that sells iPads and try charging with their power source, the iPad 1 charger will work.

try charging another electronic device with your iPad charger to test if it is working.
