iPad not detected by any laptops, but other iPad can

Hi guys,
I have a problem with my iPad, dont know if it fixable. My iPad can't be detected by my laptops (I try using Lenovo Win XP & Macbook Air), but when I try to connect my friend's iPad using same laptops & same cable, it detected fine. Is my iPad damaged?

It however, can be detected by iTunes in restore mode (press the home+power button for 10secs) so I dont think the problem is with the port, but I dont want to wipe all my data, is there any other way? thanks in advance

I have heard the re-installing iTunes on your PC can fix this problem. Could even just be the iTunes on the PC has not been updated to the latest version. If you updated your iPad to 5.1.1 OTA, this would be likely.
