IPad original board repairs.

So I've got two iPad originals and I'm trying to Make one work. One turns on but doesn't charge the other just simply doesn't turn on at all. So my question is who has dug into their solder points on their boards to try and remedy the issues? I'm thinking about handling this to get one iPad working and keep the other for parts. All advice will be greatly appreciate
