iPad Questions for Work Applications

I am new on this forum but not new to forums. I have a few questions I am hoping someone might be able to help me with.

I own a construction company and I have two supervisors that are on all the different construction sites. I was thinking I could get myself and them two a iPad each. What I want to do is either use Google Docs or some other means to keep lists of work to be done that we can all access and change when we need too. Now I am an excel guy and love to use excel for everything. What would you recommend a guy like me use that may make my life a whole lot easier?

If there is a particular program or some software that might help I am not against spending some money if it makes my business more efficient.

Thanks for your time

One of our members carried out a survey of Office apps for his company; you can see his conclusions in this thread...

The Apple iWorks Office suite for the iPad has a set of useful Help pages that show their capabilities here...

Pages is Word compatible and can read .doc and .docx files and save in .doc and .pdf

Keynote is PowerPoint compatible and can read .ppt and .pptx files and save in .ppt and .pdf

Numbers is Excel compatible and can read .xls and .xlsx files and save in .xls and .pdf

Wasnt sure exactly where to put it. I didnt think App section because I am hoping for other ideas or maybe someone else in business that is using the iPad they way I want too.

I guess if it gets the same traffic its all good.

I am not sure I am looking for an app as much as I am looking for ideas on productivity. Maybe an APP will help but not the only thing I am looking for.

Google docs is great for collaboration like this. I would build your spreadsheet on a pc and then upload it to google. Once it's there you can just send everyone invites to the document and give them either read or edit access. I don't think an app is really needed since the safari browser on the iPad works fine for google docs. If you want an app I'd recommend quick office as it's a good app in general and also has built in sync with google docs. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
