Hi everyone
Since upgrading my ipad 1 to IOS 5 the screen has started showing red sparkles and lines as per attached photo..
I am not sure if its a screen problem or a driver problem?
I have restored to factory defaults and no change.
has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks

I have the same exact problem with my IPad 1. As soon as I updated the new version, I have the red and blue lines going on? Anyone know how to fix this?

This problem seems to be growing and you all have the Ipad1. This looks like a hardware issue to me but then 2 of you say that it started after upgrading, so what changed? I'm thinking that getting in touch with Apple is the best route here. Anyone else here have any idea what could be causing this?

I agree that getting in touch with Apple is your best bet. That looks like a hardware problem to me.

I know this is an anecdote, not data, but I'm running a year-old iPad1 on iOS 5.0.1 with no problems (knock on wood).

Good luck and let us know what Apple says.

Thanks for your help, looks like this is a problem with updating,I have been to the apple shop in Meadowhall today but they just said either join the 3 hour queue to the genius bar or book an appointment to see them, all I want to know is, can I roll the software back as it was before as its no use to me as it is.
There doesnt seem to be an e mail address to contact anyone at apple direct either.

Good News Folks!
The ipad has started working properly again and has been ok for over a week now so maybe Apple have done some sort of update?

That's great that it's working, and no Apple haven't done an update.
