I made the jump today to IOS7 on my ipad 4. I did upgrade my 4s phone a couple days ago to test the waters before making such a big Change on my ipad.

ios7 I like it. my first impression was way to android, but it's still a ipad

I was a little upset about the backround images being blurry and not fitting automatically but once I noticed the backround moves a little bit when tilting the I device I thought it was a nice almost 3d effect, makes the flat icons look a little nicer.
plus I think that apple will make a backround image fix to make the 3d effect better. a little time I think it will be better then android.

I didn't like the changes in safari. it takes a little getting use to. but it's usable. I really don't like that all the safari options, favorites, cloud, tab, has moved to the right top of the browser plus I liked having the search tab on the right of the address bar, but It's growing on me. still a little androidy. but I think safari runs cleaner, a little bit slower but looks nice and clean. also I'm left handed and the old safari tabs were way better on the left :).

my ipad still scrolls fine in the springboard.

I love the new home double click option to close the apps or just to reopen a app this I think is the best update.

I like that the all the way left swipe doesn't bring up the search.

I like the the up swipe from the bottom that brings up the settings

I love the iTunes Radio. also I noticed I can play songs that I purchased on all my devices without down loading them from the cloud - not sure if this is new but I would have never noticed with out upgrading to 7

I think there is a ton of room for improvement even thou it's more improved then ios6.

I think apple has big plans for 7 and time will tell.

after been jail broken on my ipad1 (which I jailbroke to get some of the options ios7 now has)- I see apple giving and answer to that I think apple is giving the people what they wanted and more, plus maybe atrackting some android customers ?
over all if you want to know if to update your ipad to the new iOS I would say yes do it!

it's clean and smooth, yes needs a tweak or two, but over all I think a little new is what apple needed, believe me if you have any negatives they will go away after you tinker with it for a bit.

ios7 is a big improvement and looks/works great on the ipad.

I wasn't a huge fan of the new look, from what I saw pre-upgrade, but now that I have it I love it. I agree, there is a lot of change in this revision, but I think I can see where Apple wants to go with it. I have iOS 7 on all of my devices now and I'm quite happy.

Sure its good in some ways and bad at others. But, probably very less people knew, as Apple should not want to reveal this secret - many new features of iOS 7 have been copied from other OSs.

Like the swipe anywhere to unlock is from Android, as also the flat icons. There are many more, which I currently don't remember.

Seriously, you like the big ugly grey bar at the bottom of the screen? Granted, it is less obtrusive in portrait then landscape mode. Not to forget the big grey boxes that used to be folders? A shaded transparency for these "features" would ave been less obtrusive and a lot better looking. I honestly think the look is a step backward, some of the new icons would look more at home on a child's toy computer.

My biggest complaint is reduced battery life because of unnecessary additions like parallax, which, from what I've read, seems to have affected the wallpaper scaling of pictures. All in all I wish I hadn't installed it, at least until the first major update.

I also feel Safari is a step back, at least in as far as visual cues are concerned, no blue fill on the address bar as the page loads is a step back, as a small bar below the tab is a lot harder to see for visually impaired people. Most of the changes they made I had to reverse for battery or visual reasons.

This is just my opinion of course, but I believe the issues I raised are relevant.

I'd recommend restoring your device (after backing up) if you did an upgrade rather than a fresh restore to iOS 7, and turn on Reduce Motion to turn off Parallax. I'd also give Background App Refresh a turn off if you haven't already.

Thanks for the response, I've done all I can to lessen the impact. As I said most of the additions IOS 7 incorporated I've deactivated, but there is still a battery drain greater than I experienced with OS 6, at the moment I can live with it, I just hope a timely update addresses it. How apple could claim greater battery life with OS 7 is beyond me, Lies, damn Lies I say... lol.

Battery life is always a controversial subject to be honest. Some users have the most insane battery life while others could only dream of having half of that.

my battery life wasn't great with iOS 6 and it's not any better with ios7 a little bit worse. maybe all of these problems are being addressed for future updates.

I highly doubt it. They said that the iOS 6 drain would be fixed, and all the delta/hot fixes for iOS 6 were just minor tweaks to pre-existing problems with no emphasis on battery life. I wouldn't count the MS Exchange fix a battery drain fix since that's just with MS Exchange alone and not the entirety of the iOS.

How do i turn this off????

I have movement turned off and have chosen a photo I took that fits whatever the home screen background wants to do to it and I really like the look.
