iPad will speak but no images appear!

One of my clients handed my her iPad to fix.... all it does is speak whatever would normally be on the screen but the screen remains completely blank.
I know the screen works because I see the apple logo during startup.

How do I get it out of this mode?

Try triple tapping the Home button. With a bit of luck you will see the Accessibility Options. If you do, turn VoiceOver Off.

Otherwise. you should still be able to make things work by double tapping things that normally on take one tap. Use this to navigate to Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off there.
