iPad1 applications crashing

iPad1, IOS4.3.3 (non-jailbreak)

Starting tonight, when I open mail, the application starts, then immediately shuts down (crashes). Same for Appstore.

I've done a factory reinstall, restore and the problem remains.

Any ideas? I'm dead in the water right now...and i can't uninstall applications to try to solve this.

Try this. Hold the power and home buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds. Your Ipad will show an off screen , turn off , try to turn back on then turn off again.
After it turns off the second time let it sit for at least a minute then power it back on.
Don't know if that will fix it but it will clear everything running

I just had my pad crash after installing zinio. It finally turned back on and I have deleted it . Hope this was the only problem.

Wouldn't the factory reset/restore have killed everything running?

That's why I wrote don't know if it will fix it. My iPad gets wonky when it's low on RAM and my mail app is one of the apps that acts up first.
I now use xsysinfo to clear my RAM every now and then.
I'm sure there are some who know more, just sharing what has worked for me when mine went stupid
