Hello all,
I am new here and just got my first Ipad last friday!
I got a 64gb/3g at&t and so far I really like it.

My main quirk right now is with using gotomypc on the ipad.
I usually log into my office pc using my mac when I travel or from home.
Sometimes I have to transfer multiple files from one location to another.

My question is, how can I highlight/select multiple files using my IPAD2?

Also, with ipad what is better, gotomypc or log me in?

Thanks,
Khaiser

I use an app called DropBox. It works with IOS, Android and Windows. It's a cloud based storage system that gives you 2gb of free space and charges a nominal fee for larger amounts of storage. There is also a web based interface. That way I can access my files from my Droid X, iPad2, netbook, notebook, desktop or any ones computer as long as there is web access. Very useful.

I wasn't sure whether you'd installed the free GoToMyPC app on your new iPad yet - it's free if you already have the GoToMyPC service. If you have, you'll know that the app has a 'special' keyboard that contains all the usual PC control keys 'Cntrl', 'Esc' etc - and supports all the usual PC conventions - such as copy and paste and select all ('Cntrl' 'A') as well as special 'mouse' functions that allow you to 'click' and 'select'

I've not used the other remote desktop app that you mention - maybe other Forum members will be able to comment on that one.

Glad you're enjoying your iPad and welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for the feedback. I did get drop box, but that does not help me with what I need.
I also tried gotomypc but that was difficult for what I needed. Log me in seems to work well for me.

I just got GoToMYPC today. (And my iPad, yesterday, lol) Can you tell me about the 'special' keyboard, please. Is there a link where I can find the info?

Just saw this thread and hoped that it addresed my issue but alas, it didn't.

When using my iPad2 and GoToMyPc to remotely control my desktop, it works well in every respect but one; the period key is inoperative. All other keys transmit to my desktop, including the ? but the period will not.

Anyone know why and what I can do to make it work?

Thanks,

Tommy

Still need help sending a period from my keyboard using GoToMyPc to my remote desktop.

Anyone?

Please!

Tommy

Thanks for replying but as this thread is well over 2 years old we may as well close it since all original participants are long gone.

New discussions are welcome.
