Ipad2 Wont connect via itunes

Hi, can anybody help me, i connected my Ipad2 to my friends laptop, he's got Itunes, but for some reason the ipad icon doesnt pop up under 'devices'. We restarted and everything, but still wont work. He's got Itunes 8, dont think thats the problem.

The latest iTunes is 10.6 but this corresponds to IOS version 5.1, what version is your iPad on? Settings - General - About and look for version.

I think that's the problem right there, the version of ITunes he has is not compatible with the OS on your iPad. Also did you authorize this computer to sync your iPad to? Is there any reason you have not upgraded? It's at 5.1 now with so many new features to be had, hope this helps you. If you do want to upgrade, we can show you how to do it, just let us know.
