My iPad 3 gets so hot I can't hold it. Does anyone know why?

Mine never gets that hot, but some graphically-intensive games make it run warmer than normal. Does this occur with every app, or only certain ones?

If your iPad is getting too hot to hold during normal operation, something is likely wrong, such as a short in the battery or the wiring. You should have it checked out at the nearest Apple Store to find out exactly what's wrong.

The iPad 3 has been clocked at 47 degrees Celsius, usually during graphics intensive games. If it is getting hot during minimal use, it could be a battery or dock connector issue. Are there any other symptoms? Check the dock connector for any debris that may be causing a short circuit.
