My in-laws bought my son an iPad for his bday. They asked for my username and password when at the apple store. They put some apps on his iPad before giving it to my son. Now I have apps trying to install on my phone which is out of space. How can I stop this from happening and if I delete these apps from my phone will it delete from his iPad too? I assume this has something to do with iCloud? What should I do? I don't want him to lose his games but I also don't want them on my phone.

Go into iTunes and uncheck the box "Automatically sync new apps" or something similar. Delete what you want from your iPhone. It won't affect his iPad.

You can also go to Settings>itunes & App Stores, and turn off automatic downloads for iTunes, Apps, and iBooks. This way, any apps, iTunes content, and iBooks, purchased on another device using the same Apple ID, will not automatically download.
