Hi and welcome to the Forum!
I don't use ISwifter but I've just had a look at it in the App store, it's a browser that enables watching flash videos, it allows streaming but it doesn't say that it downloads. Hopefully someone who knows more will chime in here.
The IPad Forum is a community of members from all walks of life and from all over the world coming together to share our experiences and to help each other learn about this wonderful piece of technology the Ipad. There is a wealth of information already here in the many threads we have so doing some searches will answer most of the questions you have. If then you cannot find the answer you are seeking then by all means post your question. There are many friendly and informed members here only too willing to help you.
We also have our own App - It is a very simple app to navigate.

I use iSwifter and it's not download capable. All it does is allow you to access the iSwifter developer server(s) which allow them to feed/stream you Flash video, or play some Flash games.
Its a browser that only streams. I do use it when I run across a Flash video that I can't view in Safari and, so far (knock on wood), I've been able to view all the videos that I've tried.

Thanks to those who have replied to my question regarding the iswifter app. As usual I have misunderstood what the app was all about( had a blonde moment) I thought it was capable of downloading all sorts of stuff, thanks anyway you guys much appreciated!!
